Career Circle 2024: A Deeper Look into the Latest Career Tracks
Career Circles 2024 was held on Wednesday, October 9, providing AUC students with the opportunity to get first-hand experience from professionals in diverse career fields and industries. More than 300 students were able to meet with around 30 experts in different career tracks that relate or do not relate to their academic majors. Each track was reflected into different industries represented in shared stories and practical experiences from professionals to interested students.
Students from different class levels circled around all professionals, asking curious questions about their career journeys and recent job market trends and listening carefully to their responses. “This is not my first time attending Career Circles; I really like it as it gives me valuable insights about the career I’m planning to build after graduation,” said Jana Ashraf, a junior student who was present in the event. On the other hand, Basem Ameen, a radio host in Energy Egypt, 92.5 channel, confirmed the same idea, “I love Career Circles because it brings students the opportunity to get insights about professions, they aspire to work in.”
The event was organized by AUC Career Center. “I’m always keen on organizing Career Circles because career exploration is a critical step in helping students discover their passion, skills, and their many career opportunities available to them,” said Caroline Nassar, the organizer of Career Circles.
According to Nassar, Career Circles provides a unique platform for students to engage in meaningful conversations with professionals, which fosters valuable networking opportunities and allows students to ask questions, hear about different career paths, and gain a better understanding of the evolving job market. “Organizing Career Circles is the way to ensure that students have the support, guidance, and resources they need to build fulfilling and successful careers,” expressed Nassar.
In reaction to organizing Career Circles, many students expressed how satisfied they were with the opportunities they got introduced to during this event. “I now can imagine how I would be applying the material I’m currently studying in the job market. Talking to professionals related to my major made me excited for the after-graduation journey,” explained Yousef Ehab, a senior student who attended Career Circles.
At last, Abdelhameed Abdallah, a creative director at Icon Creations agency, left an advice to students, “My message to students is to involve themselves in internships from different companies, so they can get the flavor of job market.” Students can make the most out of this event by attending the annual career exploration that ties them to professional advises and aspirations.
